VibeCheck Privacy Policy Last updated: [Sep 25, 2025] 1) Overview VibeCheck ("we", "us", "our") analyzes compatibility using two photos you capture. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your choices. The app supports multiple languages and may add more over time. Your language preference is stored on your device. 2) Information We Collect - Photos and image content: You capture two photos per session. We validate content on-device using Apple's Vision framework (e.g., detecting people/pets). We do not perform identity recognition. For AI analysis, your photos (base64-encoded) are transmitted to our Firebase Cloud Function (region: us-central1) and forwarded to OpenAI's GPT models to generate compatibility analysis. We do not store your photos on our servers after analysis. - AI analysis results: The generated results (scores, vibe name, comments) are returned to your device and stored locally as part of your session. We do not retain or review your specific analysis outputs on our servers. - Account and credits: If you use an account, we collect account information (e.g., email or provider details) to maintain access to your purchased credits. Credits are tied to your account and persist even if you delete the app. - Purchases: We may store purchase receipts or transaction identifiers to validate and restore purchases and to maintain your credit balance. - App preferences and settings: Language and comment style are stored on-device (e.g., in UserDefaults). - Device and technical data: We may receive device/OS information and network metadata typical for app operations and Firebase networking, used to provide and secure the service. 3) How We Use Your Information - Provide and improve VibeCheck: Validate images on-device, perform server-side analysis via our cloud function and OpenAI, and return compatibility results. Save and restore your credits, sessions, and preferences. - About AI modes: Comment styles (including "Wild") affect tone. Wild mode intentionally produces more unhinged, playful analysis for entertainment purposes. - How scoring works: Scores are based on photo characteristics, such as facial expressions, relative positioning, visible clothing and style, lighting, and general photo quality—not on identity or biometric recognition. - Support, security, and integrity: Respond to support requests, maintain and protect our services, prevent fraud or misuse, and diagnose issues. 4) Data Storage and Retention - On your device: Your photos and session results are stored locally. When you delete sessions or uninstall the app, this local data is removed from your device. - On our servers: Photos are transmitted only for analysis and are not stored after processing. Analysis outputs are returned to your device and not retained for review. Account and credit data (and purchase receipts/identifiers) may be stored to provide, validate, and restore your purchases. 5) Sharing and Service Providers - Firebase by Google: We use Firebase Cloud Functions (us-central1) to process your photos and route analysis. - OpenAI: We use OpenAI's GPT models to generate analysis. We do not have direct access to your AI analysis report beyond transient processing required to deliver results to your device, and we do not store your photos on our servers after analysis. - No sale of personal data: We do not sell your personal information or use your photos for advertising or model training. - Legal compliance and safety: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public. 6) Payments In-app purchases are processed by Apple. We do not collect or store your full payment card information. We may retain purchase receipts/identifiers to verify and restore purchases and maintain your credits. 7) Security We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure. 8) Your Choices and Rights - Local data: Delete sessions from within the app (where available) or delete the app to remove locally stored data. - Account and credits: Credits are tied to your account and remain available when you reinstall or sign in on another device. - Access, correction, and deletion: If you have an account, you may request access to or deletion of your account data, subject to legal/operational requirements. Since we do not store your photos after analysis, we generally cannot retrieve or delete them on the server side. - Regional rights: EEA/UK and California residents may have additional rights subject to limitations under applicable law. 9) Children’s Privacy VibeCheck is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal data without parental consent, please remove the data from the device and contact the relevant platform provider as appropriate. 10) International Data Transfers Data processed by Firebase and OpenAI may be transferred and processed outside your country, including the United States. We implement measures required by applicable law to safeguard such transfers. 11) Changes to This Policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above and may provide additional notice where required.
